This is Me.

My name is Latisha Austin. I am quite the procrastinator, which is not a very good thing, but I have learned to make it work for me. Over the years I have gotten better at not procrastinating too much. I am currently a stay-at-home mom and have a set of triplets! That was quite the shocker. The plans that my spouse and I had for our next child went out the window. So, I wound up quitting my job and focusing on preparing for these triplets while finishing my degree in Criminal Justice and trying to get my first book done. It was hectic, and that is putting it mildly. I have a very short temper, and when I get stressed, I get a little snappy.

My original goal in life was to be a published writer by the time I was 18. Then that goal turned to 25, but it still took two more years to make it a reality. And even then, due to my procrastination among other things, I still launched sideways. There was a lot more that I could have done to make my launch go better and be more successful. However, that is not going to stop me.

My oldest daughter is so happy to have a mom who is an author. And even though I am not where I want to be yet, I am looking at this as a growing step. So, I am preparing myself better for the launch of my second book.

Enough about my book, you want to know about me, huh! Haha. I have been writing with the intent to become an author since I was in seventh grade. My fondness for writing did begin earlier, when I was in fourth grade, but that drive and aspiration did not come until later. My first story that I wrote actually took me seven years and went through a lot of writing style changes. It is not the first book I published but it will be in my extended Universe series. I was very proud when I got that done, but then, I didn't do anything more with it. I started three other projects while I was working on my first novel, only one of them got completed as well. However, that other title is a stand alone and definitely needs a lot of work.

I have a lot of ideas, but I have found that my passion lies in writing about finding someone who can accept you for you, but also complete you. A very fantasy-like notion in today's world. But, it is this world that I love and the more I develop these characters, the worlds they inhabit, and what stories they will tell, the more excited I get. It makes me grateful that I didn't get my very first finished draft published. Probably would have been a nightmare.

Besides my writing, I am an avid reader (though it has slowed since having five kids, and I get almost no time to read quietly with triplets), and I enjoy spoiling myself with K-pop and 90's country. I like to dance around behind closed doors because I am actually very shy and not too confident about my abilities in that area. When I'm able, I like to get outdoors. Go to the lake, go hiking, and visit my family. I get frustrated and fed-up, but for what I want to do I keep pushing through. I relate well to others and like to be a listening ear for them. My triplets keep my hands full and I both am looking forward to and not looking forward to them growing up.

This is just the beginning, y'all. I look forward to letting everyone know more about me, who I am, what I do, and why I do what I do. Cheers!

Self-Published and Mom to Five...

This has been bouncing around my head for a while. I know I won't be able to work on exploring or being able to give tips and whatnot on...

Keeping up with Triplet sleep habits...

Isn't that an idea. It's difficult enough, as many mothers would know, to keep up with one child and their sleep patterns. Eventually...
