This has been bouncing around my head for a while. I know I won't be able to work on exploring or being able to give tips and whatnot on this process for some time, but let's just think of this as a precursor to what I eventually want to do. What is that?
Start a YouTube channel about being a stay-at-home mom to five girls, including a set of triplets.
I haven't delved too much into the YouTube community to see what else it out there regarding being a writer and a mom, but I did find some. It seemed like a very small community, thus far, so I think being able to contribute to that community might prove useful to other moms who are trying to find a balance between writing and being a mom.
Let's be honest though, it's not really a balancing act. When you have kids, they become the center and you work everything around them. Especially when they are younger. As such, I tend to do a lot of my writing work when they are taking their daily nap. This is liable to change as they grow and I'll have to fluctuate my time, again. However, that's not a bad thing. It does make it more of a trying process when all I can think of is my story that I'm wanting to tell. When babies need you, though, you get your butt up and take care of them.
So, that's my future plan... one of them. I have a plan to continue my self-publishing journey regardless of my fan base (which is close to none). I'm hoping that will change if I just keep at it. I kinda did things backwards as a self-published author but that's okay. My main goal with my writing is to share my stories and take readers on an adventure. Getting money is, of course, wonderful, but that comes with time. Even if I only keep my few readers from my first book, that's good. At least I know they are living this adventure with me and that's what I really want.
