Celebrate the Little Things

Sometimes it is hard to celebrate the little things, but when pursuing writing as a full-time career this becomes paramount. I find it hard sometimes to fuel inspiration into writing when my first book has not reached people like I was initially expecting. So, celebrating the little accomplishments helps keep me in the spirit that, even if only a few, those few have been touched by my works and have, hopefully, developed a love of my characters.

So, what little celebratory moments have I had?

1. I have sold 8 copies.

2. I got my first review and it was 4 stars.

3. I have had multiple views on my character profiles from my blog.

4. I have reached the crescent point for my second novel!

What does all this tell me? Even though I am not a huge success by numbers, I have been reaching people. And if I promote better with the second book, it will help rekindle interest for the first book. But, I remember the one truth of my writing and why I wanted to publish my books in the first place. It is because I want readers to be able to connect and explore this wonderful world with me. Have that nice escape from reality. We all know reality can be a harsh mistress. Head up, and I will keep on going!
