Dartanian, if one were to put a label on him, would fall under the rebel/bad boy label. At least, that is what he looks like. He tends to keep his hair very short on the sides and longer on top, and normally wears it in a spiked style. His violet eyes are usually very bright and will darken significantly when he is upset. This makes for interesting encounters with him in the dark because one will always catch sight of a pair of blazing violet eyes staring at them.
Dartanian can also be seen as a playboy, by today’s standards, but that was before he found Amelia. Though it was never mentioned in the book (thus far, there will be a Dartanian and Amelia adventure!), Dartanian was only a ‘playboy’ because he doesn’t like to be alone. This had an effect on his personality which made him very comfortable around everyone but made his sense of humor very teasing and sometimes cruel. This was especially the case if he was mad at someone. Out of all the brothers, he is the most sociable and outgoing.
Which made it hard on him during his years of mastery for his elemental training. Dartanians main element is Earth, as such, he is almost inhumanely strong; however, he had the capabilities to be a Master Elemental which led him to continue pursuit of mastery for the other elements: water, fire, air, and lightning. He had a lot of outbursts during his training since he was not able to be as sociable as he wanted, which ultimately led to him having a short-fused temper. Something he has not quite been able to break. Each element takes 25 years to master, so his training took the longest seeing as how Dante’s training was only 107 years. Albeit it was more brutal.
Dartanian did manage to plow through those years and is still the best at what he does. Even those few who have gone to master a single element cannot stand to his level. Now, once he found Amelia, the extent of what sway Soul Magic can have on an un-wed couple is seen. Dartanian had made a deal with the keeper of Amelia and that deal was broken. As was told in the Volkenheim novel, Dartanian laid waste to the city in a very terrible way. This had a lasting affect on his new relationship with Amelia.
Where Dartanian was once a sociable, outgoing person, he was now reclusive and elusive. But that’s all I’m going to say about that because I don’t want to give too much away for his and Amelia’s story.
One other thing, Dartanian was always the one who held trust to the highest esteem, which is why he was always the one to turn Damarcus away during their years with their father. Once that trust is broken, it is hard to earn it back with him. He is almost unmovable since he does not like to give out chances to earn that trust. This winds up causing more chaos between him and Damarcus later on, and a new issue between him and his wife, Amelia.
