Amelia has no last name. She was born in the brothel where she later wound up working. During her earlier years, she was put to work as a cleaner and helper to the other working girls. The owner of the brothel kept her on because he was certain she would grow into a beauty that would attract more customers and profit him more.
The town in which Amelia grew up in was a non-magic town. It was also what could be seen as the sketchy town filled with brothels and bars and other unfavorable places among the other towns of the continent. The only reason why this small area was not destroyed was because of the main town it neighbored, Uputh, which profited as well from its' transactions. Uputh is on the continent of Zedrea which is a continent known for it's lack of magic. So, when there is magic, it is prized above all else.
Since Amelia was not accustomed to magic, and no magic was ever used around her, she knew for certain when she began her dreams of Dartanian, that something wonderful was going to happen. And it couldn't have come at a better time. Amelia was falling into a bad state of depression and had tried to run away a few times. Since that hadn't worked, she was contemplating suicide. Her dreams of Dartanian, in a way, helped to keep her away from that track giving her a new hope that she could escape her fate.
Amelia almost died and by Dartanian's own hand. It created conflict in their first year together but Amelia was determined to not lose what she knew could be with Dartanian. She wanted her happiness. Something that had been a fleeting dream her entire life. During that first year, she was patient with Dartanian but also decided she should begin to become accustomed to magic. It was through this that she began to break down those walls Dartanian had built and little by little, they grew closer.
Amelia was very fond of dance and utilized magic to help her become a master at it. She is extremely flexible. Although a quiet individual and mild-mannered, when she wants to be heard, she will be. She grew in confidence and strength while living with the Volkenheim's and she will do what she needs to make sure her family stays together and is happy. She does not want anyone to suffer as she has. or an any other way.
